Fund Objective
The SPDR Trust Series I is a pooled investment designed to provide investment results that generally correspond to the price performance and dividend yield, before fees and expenses, of the S&P 500® Index. There is no assurance that the performance of the S&P 500® Index can be fully matched.
About the S&P500® Index
The S&P 500® Index was chosen as the basis for SPDRs® as it is one of the most representative benchmarks for the performance of the broad U.S. equities market. Because of the Index's mandate to select leading stocks in the leading industries, the S&P 500® Index has evolved into a measure of large capitalisation stocks.
The S&P 500® Index is composed of stocks which are traded on New York Stock Exchange, The American Stock Exchange and The Nasdaq Stock Market. It is a market value (or capitalisation) weighted index in which a company's influence on index performance is directly proportional to its market value.
