Fund Objective


The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Technology Sector Index Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the l Dow Jones U.S. Technology Sector Index. The Dow Jones U.S. Technology Sector Index measures the performance of the technology economic sector of the U.S. equity market.

The Fund uses a replication strategy* to try to track the index. Component companies include those involved in the development and production of technology products, including computer hardware and software, telecommunication equipment, microcomputer components, integrated computer circuits and office equipment utilising technology.

There is no assurance that the price performance and dividend yield of the Dow Jones U.S. Technology Sector Index can be fully matched.

* Replication means investing in substantially all of the stocks in the relevant underlying index in approximately the same proportion as the underlying index.

About the Dow Jones U.S. Technology Sector Index

The Dow Jones U.S. Technology Sector Index measures the performance of the Technology economic sector of the U.S. equity market and it represents approximately 19% of the market capitalization of listed U.S. equities. The Dow Jones U.S. Technology Sector Index is a subset of the Dow Jones U.S. Total Market Index. The Dow Jones U.S. Technology Index is capitalization-weighted and includes only companies in the Technology sector of the Dow Jones U.S. Total Market Index. The component stocks are weighted according to the total market value of their outstanding shares. The impact of a component's price change is proportional to the issue's total market value, which is the share price multiplied by the number of shares outstanding. These are summed for all component stocks and divided by a predetermined base value. The base value for the Index is adjusted to reflect changes in capitalization resulting from mergers, acquisitions, stock rights, substitutions and other capital events.
