CIMB FTSE ASEAN40 ETF allows investors to gain instant, diversified exposure to 40 largest companies across five stock markets within the ASEAN region, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The fund aims to provide investment results that, before expenses, closely correspond to the performance of the FTSE/ASEAN 40 Index.

The FTSE/ASEAN 40 Index were launched by the five ASEAN exchanges (Singapore Exchange, Bursa Malaysia, The Stock Exchange of Thailand, Jakarta Stock Exchange, The Philippines Stock Exchange) and global index provider FTSE on 21 September 2005. The Index is a tradable index designed to represent the performance of ASEAN as a regional market. The Index is calculated on a real-time basis from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (Singapore time) and tracks the 40 largest companies across these five stock markets in ASEAN. As of 28 Auguest 2006, the largest 10 consituent stocks in the Index represent in excess of 53% of the total market capitalization of the Index.
